Matthi
Matthi is a Rajasthani snack which is a kind of flaky biscuit. It is delicious snack served with tea.This snack can be stored and consumed for many days if stored in an air tight container.
Matthis can also be served with pickles.This snack is generally prepared during festivals and marriages.
Recipe
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup semolina
1tsp Ajwain
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup oil
Luke warm water
Preparation
1. In a add all purpose flour, semolina, salt.
2. Crush ajwain with hands and add to it.
3. Add oil and mix with both hands.
4. Add water slowly and make a tight dough.
5. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
6. Make small sized balls and press with palm or roll into small round shapes.
7. Prick the matthi with fork.
8. Heat oil in pan. Deep fry the matthis till golden brown.
