pumpkin kheer
Pumpkin or kaddu kheer is a flavoursome, easy to prepare kheer made during festivals or special occasions.
It is a best way to make your kids eat a healthy meal.
Recipe
Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 1/2 cup grated
- Boiled Milk - 3/4 cup
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Sugar - 2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chopped nuts - 1 tsp
Instructions
- Peel the skin off from the pumpkin with a peeler and remove the seeds. Then grate it.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add grated pumpkin. Cook it in low flame for 10-15 while stirring till pumpkin is cooked.
- Add milk, sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well. Cook for 10-15 minutes till pumpkin is cooked in milk and becomes thick.
- Switch off the flame once the kheer consistency is reached. Top with chopped nuts and serve.
