Bottle gourd Peda ( Lauki ke pede)

Ingredients
  • Lauki(bottle gourd) - 1 kg
  • Ghee - 4 tsp
  • Sugar - 250 grams
  • Mawa(dried milk) - 250 grams 
  • Dry fruits - chopped
  • Cardamom - 3-4 
- Peel Lauki, cut into long pieces and remove the inner pulp with seeds and grate it.
-Put 2 tsp Ghee, add grated lauki and  cook on a low flame. Cook Lauki till it turns soft by stirring it from time to time.
- Add sugar in soft Lauki and cook again till all the water dries up. keep stirring at regular intervals to prevent it from sticking at the pan's base.
-Add 2tsp ghee to it and fry Lauki properly. Put Mawa and dry fruits to the mixture and cook till it reaches the point where it solidifies. Turn off the gas, crush Elaichi and add to the mixture and let it cool.
- Take small portions and roll them into medium size balls.
-Press the centre with thumb and place an almond in it.
- Serve the pedal chilled.
