TACO SHELLS

Taco is a Mexican tortilla which is filled with vegetables or beans.
These taco shells are healthy and made of corn and wheat and are baked.

Taco shells are crispy, crunchy and extremely tasty. They are filled with beans, vegetables, salsa and cheese.The best part is that you can make the filling for these  taco shells as per your taste and choice.

Taco shells can be prepared in advance and stored one day prior but I suggest to make it fresh and serve them hot straight from the oven. 


Prep time- 15 min
Cooking time- 15-20 min
Serves- 16

RECIPE
INGREDIENTS

1 cup Cornmeal flour ( makki ka atta)
1 cup wholewheat flour
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup warm water
2 tsp oil

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Sieve both the flours. Add salt and ajwain and mix well.
2. Add oil and mix.
3.Add warm water and knead into a soft dough. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
4.Pre heat the oven at 180 degree.
5.Divide the dough into 16 small balls.
6. Flatten the balls into small thin and round tortillas.
7.Lift the taco and put over the wire rack. One taco will come over two rods.


8.Bake the tacos in the oven for 15 to 20 mins till they become crispy.
9.Remove from oven and let them cool to harden.
10.Heat the shells for 2 to 3 mins in over before adding the filling to serve.
11.Enjoy the taco shells with filling of your choice.
