QUESADILLA

Quesadilla is a Mexican dish consisting of a tortilla that is filled with cheese, chicken, meat or vegetables and is cooked on a griddle. Traditionally tortillas are made with cornmeal flour but they can also be made with wholewheat flour.

Quesadilla is a complete meal which is healthy and delicious. It is an excellent way of giving vegetables to your children.

Quesadilla can be made with different fillings.
It can be a chicken quesadilla which has cooked chicken breast with diced vegetables.
It can also be vegetable quesadilla which has cooked vegetables of your choice with diced onion, capsicum and tomato.
It can also be keema quesadilla which has cooked keema with vegetables.

I have made keema matar quesadilla which has cooked keema matar along with cheese and diced vegetables.

RECIPE


INGREDIENTS

200 gm cooked keema
1/2 cup boiled peas
1 chopped onion
1 chopped tomato
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chicken masala
1 diced onion
1 diced capsicum
1 diced tomato
2 tsp oil
10 cooked tortillas

INSTRUCTIONS


1. Heat oil. Put chopped onion and saute till golden brown.
2.Add tomatoes and all spices along with some water and cook.
3. Add keema and matar and cook till done.
4. In another pan add 1 tsp oil, add diced onions and saute. Then add diced capsicum and tomato and saute for 2 minutes. Remove from flame.
5.Heat griddle. 
6.Take a tortilla and add grated cheese on half side of it. Put the keema matar and diced veggies over it. Fold it over itself to give a half moon shape.
7.Put it on hot griddle and cook on slow flame till cheese melts.
8.When the cheese is sufficiently melted, use a spatula to lift up one side of the quesadilla and flip over the other side.
9.You can apply little oil on both the sides to make it more crispy.
10. Serve hot with salsa or any dip of your choice.
