COCONUT CHUTNEY

Coconut chutney is a south Indian dip essentially served along with idli, dosa or vada.It is easy to make and has an excellent taste.

Coconut chutney is made by blending fresh coconut, green chillies, ginger, garlic and salt. It is then tempered with a little oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and dry red chillies.


Recipe
Ingredients

cup fresh coconut
3 green chillies
7 garlic cloves
1 julienne ginger
½ tsp salt
½ cup water
For tempering
tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds 
½ tsp urad dal
dried red chilli
few curry leaves

Method

1.Put coconut,green chill, ginger, garlic and salt in a blender.
2.Add in 1/2 cup water.
3.Blend to smooth paste adding more water if required.
4.Prepare the tempering by heating oil.Add in mustard seeds, urad dal, dried red chilli and few curry leaves. allow to splutter.
5.Pour the tempering over coconut chutney and serve with idli, dosa or rice.
